Scoring: IMP

South opened 1NT (15-17)
As EW you play :
Double = points,
2 = both majors,
etc..

Would you bid as West?
Would you bid as East if it goes 1NT-P-P ?

ATB if it goes 1NT-All Pass , with them making 1NT while you cold for 4.

Agree that West should bid 2C.

I could tolerate 2 but have no great feelings one way or the other. Consequently I think that 1NT was preemptive enough to say sometimes preempts work :unsure:

2 certainly works on this hand, but it wouldn't be nearly as pretty if the North and East hands were switched.

Vul at IMPs, I'm selling out with the EW hands--you can't get to every game that makes, especially with the opponents bidding.

At matchpoints, the occasional 800 isn't so bad, so there is more of a case for bidding.

Actually I love showing majors over 1NT on 44(14) hands but this one has such bad hearts that I fear the 4-3 fit.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

I would bid as west but just barely. As east I would sell to 1NT.
