I wonder what the rule is in WBF championship events?
Our rogue 1NT agreements are (by no coincidence) exactly at the limits of those allowed by FIGB in a mid/lower level pairs tournament: at most a 5 card major, a 6 card minor, 9 cards in any two suits, one singleton, no void, 4 point range.
Most RAs have similar restrictions these days: ACBL wants the singleton to be a top honour but allows 5 point range, EBU IIRC allows a 6 card major.
The real issue is whether the RA tolerates deviations to distributions that would be illegal by agreement (as Director I assume L40 applies in absence of guidance to the contrary, as a player I avoid pushing the issue by disclosing all we will play).
As I read the 2024 WBF Systems Policy, a 1NT opening will be a HUM if it can be made on less than 8 HCP and the system will be classified Red unless 1NT is natural and non-forcing. So I imagine that our agreement would be legal in WBF but the system classified Red.
