If you could convince the opponents to never bid, a 1H bid is a standout with the five hearts The 0-5-7-1 player's objective is to play the hand, hopefully in a makeable contract, rather than defend. A 5D bid is likely to win the auction. A 1H bid is likely to allow the opponents to find their black suit fit, or that they have both black suit fits. The 0-5-7-1 has no defense, and what's worse, partner with the ♥A K x x and ♦A Q x x x may think she has some defense, but oh what a nasty surprise awaits her if she dares to double five spades - the bid that may never come if the 0-5-7-1 bids 5D straight away.
