We play Aspro and are happy with it.
2♣ = hearts & another
2♦ = spades and a minor.

What does this sequence mean:

2♣ - 2♦
2NT ?

Is it something like 1-4-4-4? That seems okay.
We have been playing it as a minimum with 5+ clubs. A Max with 5+ clubs bids 3♣.

This is analogous to

2♣ - 2♦
Pass = minimum wit 5+ diamonds
3♦ = max with 5+ diamonds.

While you are here, what do you do when 2♣ Aspro is doubled?
Pass = "prefer clubs to hearts."
We play XX = "show your 5-carder" 2♦ = natural.

Hi,

your agreements to a doubles 2C bid look ok.

With kind regards
Marlowe

PS: Not knowing ASPRO, but does it not promise a 54 distribution, i.e. 4441 is out?
With kind regards

Aspro is specifically:
2♣ = ♥ + another
2♦ = ♠ + minor

One of the reasons that Asptro is generally preferred is precisely the ability to show the longer major.

Assuming we are indeed talking about Asptro now, the sequence (1NT) - 2♣ - (P) - 2♦; (P) usually has these continuations:

2♥ = 5+ hearts
2♠ = 4 hearts, 5+ spades
2NT = 1=4=4=4
3m = 4 hearts, 5+ in the minor

After (1NT) - 2♣ - (X), the version I know runs:

P = long clubs
XX = non-forcing relay
2♦ = long diamonds
others = as without interference

I have seen alternative structures proposed here but I think this is best as it preserves the "X or XX replaces the relay in competition" rule that is typical of such multi-way calls.
