I could understand either a conservative pass or a mildly aggressive 4S, but 3NT is beyond the pale. It also ignores his own GIB definition, which states that it shows "8-15 HCP" while he has a mere FIVE.

58.33 % for going down "only" two in 5H, but that's not the story. The story is GIBBO's absolutely pathetic bidding system.

On this random hand, it actually would have been best to PASS (!!!!!) 4S, but I think that would be ridiculous with South's fairly strong 0-6-2-5 hand at favourable vulnerability.

I wanted to indicate a two-suited hand, so I checked the appropriate definitions and saw, to my total LACK of surprise, that the always hopeless and wretched GIBBO joke of a system has no way to do so.

The insipid definition of 4NT was "4+ clubs; 4+ diamonds; 17+ HCP" - pathetic, ridiculous, and useless, as always.

The definition of double was even worse. This is it in its entirety! "2+ spades". That's it, that's ALL! Whoever composed this stinking piece of GIB trash presumably felt it was PERFECT. In reality, it is perhaps THE worst definition I have EVER seen ANYWHERE, which is saying a lot, because I have seen numerous GIB definitions and most of them are absolutely wretched. THIS one, however, takes the cake. It tells us NOTHING about his shape or his strength other than the TOTALLY useless "information" that he has at least two spades. Who CARES about that?

It does NOT say whether the double is penalty, takeout, "co-operative", "cards", DSI, or ANYTHING else. It's a...DUH...definition (!!!), but it doesn't DEFINE...ANYTHING! It is quite literally a NON-definition!

GIB apparently thinks it's FINE for him to double 4S...whether he has ZERO HCP...or THIRTY-SEVEN HCP.

How can North ever have ANY idea of what to do with ANY hand, when this piece of garbage GIB definition tells him NOTHING even REMOTELY useful?

Someone actually took the time to write this utter garbage of a definition for the double? Why did that person even bother? Did he actually think his piece of trash had ANY use, ANY merit whatsoever? And obviously this useless piece of junk has never been proofread or improved. GIB/GIBBO is a truly shoddy piece of work. If it were a building, it would have been condemned by city inspectors and bulldozed years ago.

No wonder the GIB/GIBBO robots are the worst bridge players of all time, given that they are saddled with the worst system and definitions of all time.
