West's 2H bid is defined as showing "11-16 total points".
Do you see anything even CLOSE to that many points in West's hand?
Neither do I.
Why do they even BOTHER with GIB definitions (?), since A. They're usually useless, often incorrect, and always pathetic, and B. The robots often ignore them anyway.

OMARHEUM has provided another very illuminating hand. I will discuss what happened at his table in this post (#2082), and then in the following post (#2083) I will discuss what happened with the same hand at a different table. I thank OMAR for providing both reports.
Charles Dickens wrote "A Tale of Two Cities". Posts 2082 and 2083 might be referred to as "A Tale of Two Travesties" - thanks to two different examples of glaring GIBBO ineptitude. GIBBO robots are hopeless in so many different ways.
Okay, so first here is what happened at OMAR's table. He writes "This hand scored 100 % for me. It was played 19 times in 4H and 10 times in 3H. I regretted bidding 4H as soon as I saw the dummy. However I was rescued by West and his compulsion to discard Spades, while neither defender would broach the club suit. I was the only table to register 11 tricks."
My comments:
1. Given that the robots theoretically play standard signals (although in reality they rarely signal, rarely watch or obey signals, and pretty much seem to play their cards randomly), the first two clubs that East pitches are the wrong ones.
2. West wins trick 5 with his diamond king, and then following the standard - and entirely I.D.I.O.T.I.C. - philosophy of the always braindead GIBBO robots, he of COURSE immediately returns a...DIAMOND, because these imbeciles are so incredibly stupid that they always think it's a terrific idea to return the suit that DECLARER just played.
3. East wins trick 6 with his diamond ace and, because he is as agonizingly hopeless as his imbecilic "partner" (and ALL GIBBO robots), he too immediately plays a third round of diamonds - the same suit that DECLARER had led. These two clowns obviously began the day with their regular breakfast: a huge, heaping, overflowing bowl of stupidity pills that they gleefully and ravenously gobbled up with gusto.
4. At tricks 8 and 9, West, as OMAR pointed out, showed his "compulsion to discard spades" - which was MONUMENTALLY stupid, given that he could SEE the spade length in dummy North. BUT...
5. West's LUDICROUS spade pitches would not have cost if his "partner" East had exhibited even a scintilla of intelligence, because after observing West's spade pitches, only a TOTAL M.O.R.O.N. would now pitch a spade from his remaining 107 doubleton, as that doubleton was OBVIOUSLY a guard against the K98 that were VISIBLE (!!!) in the dummy! East, a disgustingly useless and worthless GIBBO robot, stepped RIGHT up to the plate and TOSSED the spade 7 at trick nine! How is it even POSSIBLE for anyone or anything to be this BLINDINGLY stupid?
6. I have made this comment before, but it bears repeating. "GIB" is perhaps the biggest misnomer in the history of mankind, since it supposedly stands for "Ginsberg's Intelligent Bridgeplayer" (sic!), yet GIB is the LEAST intelligent thing I have ever seen. The "I", rather than standing for "Intelligent", would be infinitely more appropriate if it stood for: I.D.I.O.T.I.C., imbecilic, ignorant, irrational, inconsistent, inferior, insane, inane, insipid, incapable, inaccurate, irritating, indefensible, incompetent, imperfect, illogical, insufferable, inept, or infuriating.
7. These GIBBO witlings allowed declarer to take ELEVEN tricks despite the fact that they had FOUR TOP winners: the AK of both minors...AND...they could BOTH guard spades, but NEITHER of them did.
8. Frick and Frack were obviously HOPELESS on this hand, but as you will see in the following post, their fellow GIBBO robots, Johnny Halfwit and Donald J. Dumbo, were equally horrendous on the same board at a different table and in a different way. GIBBO robots are extremely creative at creating new SINS against the game of bridge.
9. Here's the link to what happened at OMAR's table, but stay tuned for the next post, where we'll look at the atrocity that occurred at another table.

Okay, here's the same hand but from another table. OMAR writes "Here is the play at the only table where ten tricks were made. The 'defence' here is also laughable. It was worth 96 % to the lucky human declarer who received this gift."
My comments:
1. East makes the same incorrect first club pitch as his counterpart did at OMAR's table...but his second club pitch is certifiably INSANE. His second club pitch - at trick THREE yet - is the...KING (!!!) of clubs! WHAT? WHY? I've seen leftover hamburger buns with more intelligence than Donald J. Dumbo exhibits here!
2. At trick five, West wins his diamond king, but SURPRISINGLY does not immediately return the suit. Progress? No, not quite! He cashes the club ace first, ENSURING that declarer's QUEEN now becomes a winner...and THEN at trick seven - having ESTABLISHED declarer's club queen, he of COURSE reverts to diamonds, the suit DECLARER had played.
3. East wins his diamond ace and plays his carefully preserved NINE of clubs to declarer's HIGH queen. Gee, I wonder if Halfwit and Dumbo could have done better in the club suit? Is it POSSIBLE that they could have taken TWO club tricks rather than one? What if East had kept his king of clubs (!)...OR...if EVEN after that INCREDIBLE early discard, West had NOT cashed his club ace (!!!)? By golly, yes, I think they COULD have taken TWO club tricks.
4. But by ALL means, o ye loyal defenders of and apologists for the GIBBO robots, I beseech you: Please, please, PLEASE remind me once again of how the GIBBO robots are "better than most human players". PLEASE remind me, because I keep forgetting that - ahem - "fact". While you're at it, o ye staunch defenders of GIBBO virtue, please remind me also: What colour cheese did you say the moon is made of?

North is white against red...and is sitting opposite a partner who preempted (!) in HEARTS, where North has FIVE cards himself. North is 2-5-1-5 (!) but he wouldn't DREAM of sacrificing in 5H because he feels he has FAR too much defence against 4S.
Yes, North is a GIBBO robot.
Yes, North is an imbecile.
Yes, North is one of the worst "bridge players" of all time.
Yes, ALL the GIBBO robots are incompetent and should be replaced by DECENT robots.

East's 1D is defined by GIB as "Minor-suit opening...11-21 HCP...".
First, GIB DOES NOT HAVE TO TELL US THAT 1D IS A MINOR-SUIT OPENING!!!
Second, East does NOT have "11-21 HCP". He has ONLY 10. Now, if he chooses to open 1D, I have no objection, but since the GIBBO robots DO open such hands, then DISHONEST DEFINITIONS such as this are inexcusable! It's bad enough that the GIB definitions are SO often nothing but pathetic pieces of garbage that do not accurately and fully explain what NEEDS to be explained (while at the same time including useless, offensive drivel such as "minor-suit opening"), but it would be nice if the definitions could at least be HONEST!
Later in the auction, East...DOUBLES 3S! This is defined as "3+ diamonds; 2+ spades; 12+ HCP; 12- total points; forcing".
First, please note that GIB's IGNORANCE about "total" points is AGAIN exposed, as it SO often is. Second, please note that definition is basically useless, as it says NOTHING of importance about his shape, his strength, or his diamond length. Third, please note that it doesn't even say what the double is supposed to be: penalty, takeout, "cards", DSI - who KNOWS (?) because the useless definition does not answer that basic, crucial question! Fourth, please note that the double is described as "forcing", yet West then PASSES...with only TWO spades! Fifth, please note that East does NOT have "12+ HCP". He has a MERE TEN and he ALREADY opened the bidding (!) with that MERE TEN even thopugh THAT bid of 1D supposedly PROMISED "11-21 HCP". He's doubling at the THREE level, presumably showing extras (although the astoundingly pathetic GIB definition does not explicitly state that or much of ANYTHING else), and not only does he NOT have extras, but he doesn't EVEN have what he "promised" at the start of the hand! Sixth, please note that he does NOT have the "2+ spades" that the definition claims - he has only one.
The double is a joke. The definition is a joke. Why is this IMBECILE doubling here? Why is the definition such garbage? Why can't the braindead GIBBO robot even FOLLOW his own (admittedly USELESS) GIB definitions?
Why does West PASS the double...that was described as "forcing" (!)... with his DOUBLETON spade?
Biggest and best question of all: Why is BBO still shaming itself by having these HORRENDOUS robots contaminating its otherwise fine bridge site?
GREAT "judgment" by these two GIBBO twits, BTW. They doubled 3S and "held" it to "only" one overtrick! It's time to take out the trash, and GIBBO IS the trash!
