West bizarrely shifted to a trump at trick two, making it easy for me to draw trumps and squeeze him in the black suits. Yes, West was a GIBBO robot. Oh, you already guessed that? Yes, I thought you would.

Want a good laugh?

If so, watch how the GIBBO "declarer" TOTALLY butchers his 3S contract.

Then reflect on the fact that these GIBBO mongrels are actually "better" at declarer play than they are at anything else pertaining to bridge.

Perhaps at that point you will correctly conclude that the GIB/GIBBO robots are among the worst and most useless "bridge players" in the entire history of the game.

Typically stupid cuebid at a high level by the GIBBO nincompoop in the West. Why the HELL is the M.O.R.O.N. bidding 3S? Note that, as is so often the case with these useless GIBBO pieces of dirt, his imbecilic bid does not even adhere to his own GIB definition.

Please ship these worthless GIBBO bozos to a robot graveyard (preferably in a different universe far, far away) and replace them with robots that are at least slightly competent. It's 2026 - decent robots do exist.

East bids a HIGHLY questionable 3D. The GIB definition claims, among other things, that this shows "bad spades". Q9 doubleton is CERTAINLY not "bad", especially considering that he initially responded a forcing INT to his partner's opening bid of 1S.

Why in the Hell would a definition of 3S even BOTHER saying "bad spades" in any case?

AND...why in the Hell is it necessary to begin the definition of 3D with the TOTALLY useless, annoying, insulting words "new suit"?

This is typical of the always pathetic GIB definitions that are one of the many reasons why GIB/GIBBO stinks.

This is another MANDATED AUCTION, which explains South's bizarre FREE (!) bid of 2S. Regardless of result, ONLY GIB or GIBBO would think this was a wise bid! He was doubled...for PENALTY in 1NT by his LHO! As such, he knows that as per the GIB definition of the double, his LHO, sitting behind (!) him, has at least 16 HCP. He also knows that his (South's) partner North has a weak hand (since he ran from 1NT doubled) and that North has a long minor...so he...DUH...might not have spade length.

In practice, South lucked out and got an unexpectedly and VERY undeservedly FINE dummy in North, but that does not justify GIBBO's silly MANDATED bid of 2S.

West then doubled 2S. Looking at his hand, this seems like a reasonable penalty double (even though South made his contract). BUT, the typically RIDICULOUS GIB definition of West's double of 2S LUDICROUSLY defines it as a "takeout double"! How mind-blowingly stupid can a definition be? (Well, GIB definitions CONSTANTLY show us how stupid they can be!) West doubled 1NT for penalties! Why would he NOW be doubling 2S for takeout...especially when the atrocious GIB definition also VERY stupidly says that the double shows "1- diamond"?!!!

Seriously, is the author of the GIB definitions proud of his work? Asking for a friend!

Normally I'd be bashing West for disregarding his own GIB definitions, but here I'm thinking of awarding him a Medal of Honour! Maybe he's what GIB/GIBBO so badly needs: a courageous REBEL robot unafraid to stand up and say, "GIB/GIBBO. I'm mad as Hell and I can't take it anymore with the I.D.I.O.T.I.C. system you've saddled us with, the imbecilic definitions you've created, and the M.O.R.O.N.I.C. fellow robots I have to partner!"

Yes, give THAT rebel robot a medal!

Gloriously inept "declarer" play by dimwitted Donald J. Dumbo in the East. Like all GIBBO robots, he's better at declaring than he is at bidding, leading, or defending, but that's small consolation, since he even stinks at declaring.

Why is Dumbo leaping to 4H? His partner Johnny Halfwit earlier PASSED two hearts, so Halfwit would have been content to have the auction END there...which means that despite his competitive bid of 3D, he (Halfwit) cannot have a good enough hand for Dumbo to make 4H. Donald J. Dumbo has a very appropriate surname.

And Dumbo is certainly no better at "defending" than he is at bidding. Look at tricks three and four to see how the feeble, elderly dimwit turns his TWO NATURAL SPADE (TRUMP) WINNERS...into...ONLY ONE! Donald J. Dumbo is a true imbecile.

Typically braindead lead followed by typically pathetic "defence", as GIB/GIBBO continues to show the world how "good" it is.

If anyone collects wretched "defences", here's one you can add to your collection.

After winning his heart queen at trick two, West decides that he wants to ensure that South succeeds in his otherwise unmakeable contract of 3NT.

As such, the hopeless GIBBO droke cashes his two high spades...and NOW South has a claim with nine winners.

Anyone who wants to become a good defender just has to watch the GIBBO robots and remember to do the OPPOSITE of everything that they see Johnny Halfwit and Donald J. Dumbo (or Frick and Frack) do.

Trick seven: West stupidly covers the club jack. The auction has made it clear that this foolish cover can NEVER win but could conceivably lose if declarer happens to misjudge the position and play dummy's king if the jack is not covered.

Yes, this is far from the worst thing these GIBBO losers have done, but it's a slow news day.

This one is funnier than the preceding one. Watch how Halfwit and Dumbo manage to take only ONE (!!!) diamond trick:

A forcing 2H seems way too aggressive opposite a weak 2D.

Frick and Frack bid to a silly 5C. Maybe they try to avoid HEART contracts?

East-West CRAWLED into a 4S contract on a hand where SIX spades would be a reasonable contract. Somehow, I don't think The Bidding Bible would recommend ANY of East's calls except for his initial 1S response.

The hand was played on BBO though, HOME of bad breaks, so it was no surprise at all that NS clubs were 5-0.

The EW bidding was also bad at all the other tables. The board was played 20 times in all. Of those 20, it was played 18 times by East in 4S. This East was one of three declarers who made "only" 10 tricks. Thirteen made 11 tricks and two made 12 tricks.

At one table EW bid up to 6NT (!!!) and went down three.

At another table. EW doubled NS in 3D and the contract made exactly.
