When you make an obvious lead against a suit contract simultaneously with partner's final pass, instead of making your obvious lead, you make a lead at random because BBO rearranges the cards to put trumps on tthe left when the bidding finishes.

Yesterday night this bug/issue decided who won the spannish national league after 140 deals of play during 6 months

this is an issue that has been running for yeards and it is so easy to fix. Here are some solutions:

-Forbid leading for 1 second after rearranging
-Don't rearrange for the initial lead untill it is not your turn
-Don't rearrange if the mouse is over the cards

Maybe 5+ seconds after the final pass? IMHO, ultra quick leads can impart UI although sometimes the bidding demands a certain lead.

FWIW, BBO is too busy increasing the card fees for their various games to get to this request anytime soon.

Quick leads can impart UI, but 1NT-p-3NT-(10 seconds)p-p-p, for instance, one assumes that the opening leader is using the 15 odd seconds to work on what they're leading.

I have learned to keep the mouse *off* the hand when I'm going to be OL. Takes me a couple of seconds to get back to my hand at which point the reshuffle, if it's going to happen, has taken place.

But yes, at least there should either be a lock on leading before the switch happens, or an option to not reshuffle the hand (except for dummy) or something - likely various somethings. I'm sorry that it happened in a serious event.

A lock on leading before the switch happens seems by far the most appropriate solution... but some solution certainly should be found.

I look forward to the time when my skills at Bridge improve to the point where thinking is not required.

How about that? A mind game where thinking is unnecessary.

A very simple solution. Use diagram instead of cards, because it doesn't rearrange the cards. This way I have never had this problem.

Me too. Also barmar, which might explain why this was never fixed :)

I much prefer hand diagram, although I find it difficult to adjust to cards when I go back to face to face or other online platforms.

Don't blame me. I don't program the client, and I'm not involved in prioritizing tasks.

But yeah, I don't experience many of the UI problems people complain about because I use diagram mode. It also doesn't have the problem of claims covering the trick count.
