Here is an interesting hand not involving me with a NS novice pair against an experienced EW partnership:

South throws in a poor overcall (I have since told her not to do that on such poor hands), which talks EW out of their 3NT contract which doesn't make, so they get a near top.

I don't think West's 2 was right, but after the 2 overcall, she has a problem. She was going to re-bid 1NT (15-17) which she can't now, she is not good enough for 2NT, and a takeout double will result in a 2 bid opposite, then what? What should West do over 2?

Not familiar of weak NT, but:

- isnt X followed by 2NT supposed to show the 15-17 hand with some kind of stopper?
- should 2H show I guess either 12-14 unbal for not opening 1NT, or 15-17 bal but in both cases with 4H? And that would almost propell W into game I guess and the top avoided lol

X should show the 15-17 hand.
