hand 10.

2(2)dbl

qplus thinks this is take out. Gib thinks it is penalties. No way to tell Gib it is t/o. If it was the other way round you could tell qplus it is penalties. Not sure qplus has any other options for this bid playing it as penalties is pretty insane.

Gib passes with something like a x akqjxx aqxxx which is pretty bad anyway maybe, who knows that is why penalty dbls are so bad.

so accounting for gib being insane on boards3 and 10 I score this as +11 imps to gib. We'll see how argine does some other time.

I hve played against these three robots:
Funbridge gib and w5

It feels like w5 has the strongest cardplay and funbridge the weakest bidding.
Funbridge too often makes ridicoulus sacrifices that leads to -1400 and such.

So my rating
1. W5 2. Gib 3. Funbridge

I finally found an argine I could download and play 20 hands before it stopped. So I just played some challenges. It isn't very good I think although it was a small sample. I ended up +23 imps it felt weaker even than gib but hard to say.

I've only played BBO & Funbridge but I prefer Funbridge:
  • It allows a choice of systems
  • It allows you to play the majority of hands without resorting to the "best hand" method
  • It defends much more like a human

My experience is similar. Both are effective in attack and hopeless at slam bidding, but argine is more like a human partner in defence and in initial bidding (at least choosing SEF).

One other thing I’ve just remembered about Funbridge is that its robots can claim.
