Basic system is a gadget filled 5cM 2/1 GF. Oppo are playing Australian standard with a strong NT and are sound. Partner opens any 11 count if that effects your decisions.

Not sure what to do with this collection. Realistic starting points are 1M, 4M, or 3NT as a specific Ace ask. What's your decision, and likely view of continuations.

I don't know which suit I want to play in, and neither do I know the level. So I try to find stuff out by opening 1S.

1♠ intending on 4♥ rebid. If I am really lucky, I am playing Strong 2s in 4th seat, and can therefore open 2♠, still planning on rebidding 4♥

1S then hearts, I don't see why this is a problem. It is asking a lot for partner to have 2 of the 3 keycards we are missing once he passes over 2D, even though it's possible.

I would lean toward the specific ace ask (if I knew the system and felt it was safe) but w/o that info I would end up bidding 1s.

I'm not sure what a specific ace ask will get you when you don't even know what suit you want to play in yet. Never mind that you are also missing a very important king, or can I ask for that next over each response showing 1 or both of the important aces?

Yeah, this wasn't a good problem sorry. Pard has two keys (AC and KH) but will correct 4H to 4S as he has a 2245 shape and thinks it is all a big misfit. I'm not sure if he should continue, he can tell from the diamond raise and his length that this hand is void in diamonds so the AC is likely a great card. Basically the entire field played 4M with two slams (6H and 6SX), so not sure if you can bid normally.

I would open 2♣ Then rebid the ♠(game forcing) then the ♥
Partner will know then (if he is a player worth his salt)that I have powerful major 2 suiter
and demanding at least a major suit game contract.

IMO 1♠ (Followed by at least 4♥) = 10. 3N (Specific A ask) = 9, 2♣ = 7.
