The other day I was playing in the main club with 3 GIB robots.

At my table the bidding was as follows (dealer East).

W N E S (Me)
- - 1S 2H
PASS 2NT PASS 4H
ALL PASS

I made 10 tricks.

At every other table (all playing against 3 GIBS) the bidding began (1S) 2H but the GIB sitting North passed and the contract was 2H.

My question is why did my partner choose to bid 2NT whereas all the other robots passed?

Do GIBS bid randomly or did mine trust my bidding?

Non-tourney, MBC, different versions of GIB at different tables. I speculate that those tables that shared the same result were using the same version of GIB

There are at least 3 versions from which to choose: Server Basic GIB, Server Advanced GIB, and Windows download version (of which there may be more than one but I cannot confirm that).
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

There should be more for the downloadable version, depends on the settings chosen by each user (they can choose robot speed, from fast to slow, where slowest = smartest).
