Systemic options available to you:

Normal stayman (after a stayman response, 3 is ostensibly forcing)

2N relaying to 3 - either to play, or to show a 4-4-4-1 game force

3 natural and invitational, 6+ card suit.

This is matchpoints.

Tricky hand I guess. At IMPs I would bid stayman and then 3NT. I guess I could bid 3C, natural and invitational and give up on hearts. Yeh, let's go for that.

Toss-up between 2NT and 3C IMO. 2NT is wimpy but my gut says 3C is the right contract a large percentage of the time (sim maybe?) so why not put it there. The biggest risk to 3C is that partner goes with a max with no fit in clubs and we just don't have tricks.

I wouldn't force to game, though I'd consider it at IMPs.
I once yelled at my partner for discarding the 'wrong' card when he was subjected to a squeeze that I allowed by giving the wrong count with too high a card. Now he's allowed to pitch aces when the opponents have the king in the dummy. At trick 2. When he could have followed suit. And blame me.

If partner has hearts I would like to be in game. If partner is minimum without hearts, I want to be in 3 and certainly want to avoid 2NT. If parner is maximum without hearts, I think it is close between 3 and 3NT.

To me it looks like the best action is to sign off in clubs and just hope partner doesn't have hearts.

Over 3 Nat invitational will Partner bid a good 4cM on the way to 3nt if he's maximum?

If that's a yes I'll bid 3c, if he passes he's min and/or bad clubs.

At the table I chose 3, which appears to be the consensus. It happened to work well (partner bid 3N with Axxx Qx AJxx A9x, and brought clubs in for 10 tricks after the spade lead), not sure what is right or wrong.

Yet another advertisement for the Martens "transfer after Stayman" rebids.

From the posted choices, I am endplayed into 2NT, as I am very strict that a 3C invitation shows HHxxxx and no outside likely entry.

After 1NT - 2; 2, how does the method transfer to clubs and also cope with the invitational hand with 4 hearts? Switch the majors and the (normal) transfers would work well.
