It's kind of a tough hand for GIB methods IMO, given that it doesn't play transfers with a super-accept option step, and doesn't have any minor suit invitations.
Would you rather it bid 3nt and down 1 off the top on a spade lead (not that robots would lead spades)?
If it's going to transfer and bid 3s, shouldn't south basically force to slam down 1? I certainly would. If it's going to just shoot out 5c, then South could easily come up with some less suitable hand with no play ...

Funny you should analyze the 3N defense that way, since half of Souths bid 3N over 2N and West led a diamond.

i see nothing wrong with 3NT to start with
if going for a reverse fix playing 3♣
heck if north just bids 3NT to start with good chance GIB will lead a ♣ or if
it does what it normally does it will lead from Qxx♥
