1 was natural (promises 3+, better minor kind of thing). You might be laydown for anything 7NT down to 4. Your partner has been know to psyche but only extremely infrequently so despite your club holding, it is reasonable to assume he has an opening hand. How do you continue (if you double, suggest how the bidding might continue if partner bids 4, 4, 5 or 5).

:P 6 Great problem. RHO's preempt has done its job. I'm not going to double because it is not clear what it might accomplish, and with five clubs, I don't want to chance that pard might leave it in. We might go down or miss a grand, but the small slam in clubs seems to me to be a happy medium.

equal vulnerability, its fair to assme RHO has 8 diamonds and no side entry, the other likelly holding for 7 is a 7-4 in the minors. This leaves us with only 3 missing cards: AK, A.

There is no way to find out about K, so we must assume it will not be a loser wich is more likelly than the other way around.

So what do we do now? if 4NT is blackwood for clubs that's it. If partner has 2, since I don't have a way to ask for K and stop in time I'd just blast 7 away.

If 4NT ain't blacky I would bid 5, it doesn't take much time to realice that 2 aces in the majors are worth 7 when partner forces to the 6 level.

I realice that we might not even make slam, but from game, slam and grand slam, I think the best thing we can do now is give up on game an dconcentrate differentiating between slam and grand slam.

A question to the audience on this auction - what would a 5M response mean to you?

Are you suggesting It might be fit-showing in clubs and choice of slams?

I play fit jumps with my partner - doing it here would be a bit wild, but I'd imagine he'd work it out (and freak out now we're at the 6 level with him holding 9xxxx in the trump suit :D). Still doesn't get us to the grand slam.

Having thought about it a bit more - I think I've gotta stop in 6 here unless playing MPs and needing a good score. Yes there's a good chance partner has the two aces but I wouldn't be surprised at all to find the K with opponents. So I'll just bid 6C.

5 would say raise to 6+ if you have diamond control

Easier to dismiss the bids I'm not making.
4, 4, and 5 are out for me. They all sound like places to play and partner may pass.

RKC virtually commits us to a slam, 5 gets the general message across, but tends to cram the auction.

I'm going for 6 the value bid.

5 might work but I'm not willing to risk it.

5S would say, raise to 6S if you have a useful hand. It does not ask for a diamond control.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
