Yes, as long as it's a slam try that shows a club suit. If all I'm allowed to do is show a control, I won't bother.

I would bid 4♦ wich shows shortness for me, would rather have a long suit slam try this time though.

I don't find the slam try obvious BTW, as gnasher I'd bid 4M if my agreements were just cuebids.

Like Gnasher's 4♣ suggestion as a HSST, but I can't get my partners to play this :(

4C playing standard.

For me 3S is about 15-16 and 3H is about 17-18, so it is closer. However, I do play that 4C shows a club suit (I can ask for shortness with 3NT), so I still would.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Jilly is not the only one who accuses me of being a wuss. Aside from direct accusations some of my partner's start bidding on less and less.

If partner could have bid 3♥ non GF with heart shortage then they probably have club shortage or are 4252. So it's not that attractive but I might still do it. Since partner is limited I wouldn't expect them to go crazy if I do make a try unless they have an ideal hand such as Axxx Axx AKxxx x.

I`d bid 4C whatever that is, icant bid 4D with a void so i try to find otherways wheter he has/ has not his strength in my void. If his next bid is 4D i`ll bid 4S.

I would bid 4C. I like to play 3N as a shortness ask, in which case I would love to bid that.

That creates a bit of a dilemma. I'd like to ask for shortage, but only if partner actually has one - if he doesn't, I'd like to show my suit instead.

Well, I play 3♥ by opener as showing heart shortage. So this sequence should be either a "bad" 18-19 balanced or club shortage. The lack of heart shortness does reduce our slam chances, but if partner has 18-19 balanced we could easily have play for slam (i.e. AJxx KQx KJxx Ax is a fine slam despite the diamond wastage). I'll try 4♣, which shouldn't excite partner too much if he has shortness there.

I'm not going past 4S on my own, but will definitely give partner a chance to act interested. How I do that is going to depend on our cueing style. 3NT or 4C or 4D may be the right call depending on the agreements.

I would have signed off (opposite ~15-17 and 4♣ being a cue) so I guess that makes me an underbidder and a wuss :( Oh well...
