I'm just saying Han should have more confidence in his home country.

I disagree. I don't think a home country is necessarily worth fighting, dying, or cheering for.

Of course I was cheering very much for the Dutch ladies and was sad to see them lose by 1 VP.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

If you stop an obvious goal with a handball then it should be a goal, IMO.

Appiah (#10) was in an offside position.

Rasheed was right, "ball don't lie"

Lol kevin, they cannot award Lampard's goal and you want this to happen :).

Luis Suarez is the Hero for today. So sad that he cannot play next round. But no problem, Forlan is the man.

England doesn't look so bad now, does it?

Also, what a genius move by Low to play Klose, after he was benched the whole season for Bayern. In 3 matches he played Germany scored 12 goals, in 2 matches he didn't play they scored 1 goal.

For France Benzema stayed home, Thierry Henry didn`t play and they scored 1 goal in 3 matches.

Paraguay was robbed, I think the goal was regular.
Neither was the active player offside nor did the ball jump to his hand.

I'm a bid disappointed about the performance of the Spanish team.

Has anybody seen a statistic how many player are from the various leagues?

I mean every team seems to have players playing in the German, English or Spanish league (incomplete list).

I wonder which league has the most players at the WC?

I would have thought that since Cardozo (who was offside) tried to head the ball the offside call is fine. (Imagine Cardozo wouldn't have been there - surely that would have made things a little easier for the goal keeper?) But I admit I never quite know what passive offside means.

Yes perhaps the "passive" player was not passive enough.

FIFA law 11 said:

A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball
touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee,
involved in active play by:
• interfering with play or
• interfering with an opponent or
• gaining an advantage by being in that position

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Penalty double!

Paraguay's was poor -- I think the striker gives away his intention by glancing in the direction he intends to shoot.
Spain's was weird -- there was a definite claim for a second penalty because Fabregas was pulled down by the Paraguay goalie.
