These same people who will never bid vulnerable at imps on a partial deal will also never double vulnerable at imps on a partial deal (zOMG IT IS IMPS WE CANNOT DOUBLE A PARTIAL EVER WITHOUT GOOD TRUMPS AND 8 TRICKS).

It is so much safer to bid 3D here at imps than at MP vs good opps it is ridiculous. At MP you will get doubled whenever they have like 22+ HCP and balanced hands, and you will go -200 a lot. Here there is basically no downside.

Even red vs. white at imps I'm balancing with 3 on the first hand. The second hand I double and pass an unfortunate 2 advance.

Can't believe people are passing hand 1

that's because it's a forum problem :) In real life we all either overcall 2 or balance 3

as to hand 2, dbl + pull 2 to 2. Pard shouldn't have 5 diamonds because he passed 1 with what probably is a hand with short clubs and a few hcps.

So you had to pass over 1 Spade, you now balance v against nv and think that they won't double often?

I think that they will make the right descission much too often now.

They now know that you have a hand close to an opening but with too weak/too few diamonds to overcall diamond at your first opportunity.

So they are in real good position to judge whether to play or defend and whether to double or not.
Kind Regards

You think only chickens do that. "Can't double, they can make it", "Can't balance they could double" but consider what aggressive great player playing against aggressive great opponents may think :
"I am happy to double those balancing bids", 'uhh... they are happy to double too, better be careful".

So it's not like chicken like attitude is the only one consistent with not balancing here...
