8-5 is still 1-suited I think. I might try 6 and since partner would yell at me for opening 2 on a 2 loser hand.

Over 2, 3 sounds forcing, and I'll follow up with 5N over partner's likely 3N.

Not to me, you would get to play 3 most of the time opposite me.
Trying to learn, I have many questions.

Rob, why would 3C be forcing?

As a general rule when one hand has shown nothing you can't make forcing bids unless they are cuebids or some jumps.

Agree with 1H.
3!S now.
Over 3NT I bid 4C, this must be forcing.
Over 4C I think I'll just bid 6C, I doubt any RKC or cuebidding can tell me if partner holds specifically H ace.
Over 4D I take the negative route of 4H.

I like 1 also, but 2 may be better if you have good methods over 2. 3 first... I am planning on bidding 6 eventually, but it cannot hurt to see if I can find out more, so I will probably bid 4 next. I will bid 4 over 3NT and 6 over 4 though... Actually, this is a hand where in my system, I would open 4NT as a specific ace ask. Now if partner doesn't bid 5 showing the A, I will bid 6. Unfortunately this loses the club fit potentially, and we may get too high, but I think if we're willing to force to slam after partner has shown nothing, then 4NT is acceptable.

Gag, not this one again.

Obviously 3 is NF.

I'm also sure many would take 4 as NF too !?

1 + 6 seems to do the hand justice.

I'd expect a 6-6 for a 6 rebid

I would go for sure with 3 now, lets give partner a chance to bid clubs himself.

I'd like to bid 1+3+4+5 as the better explanation possible.
