No. Pard is balancing and apparently he isn't even sure you understood 4♣ was specifically for the majors. Just pass. Besides, if you bid slam, it can go club ace, club ruff

Not close imo, pass. This michaels could be quite light since partner is under a lot of pressure if hes 5-5 in the majors. He might well just bid 4C to make sure to get to the right strain.

Agree with Justin.
I would have bid 4♥ last time instead of 4♦.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

This was a hesitation problem that occurred against us.
In real life partner thought for some time before bidding 4♥. This hand then raised to 5♥ and partner bid the slam, making an overtrick when he held ♠KJxxx ♥AKQxx ♦x ♣AQ (yes, our 3♣ opener as not a thing of beauty).
There was no dispute over the hesitation but the Director ruled that the 5♥ bid was automatic and the table result stood. We did not appeal as it would not have materially affected the result, but we were not happy.
We're still not happy but feel supported by the above comments
