Invite. 3 or 3, depending upon what game tries apply. Or even 2NT if we've got a decent response structure.
Kind regards,

Seems clear invite to me. Might be a game bid opposite mike777 half the time.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Yes definitely. Plenty of minimum holdings for p will make game so whatever long/short/help suit game try is, use it.

I would pass, only if the methods allowed to show invitational with heart shortness I'd think of inviting, but here, game wll be horrible anytime partner has a heart honnor.

If the raise always showed 4 I would bid game, but if it might be 3 I would just invite

Also interesting, I think, is the choice of invitation, assuming that the raise promises only three spades.

Presumably either 3C or 3S might lead to an uncomfortable 3S opposite a minimum 3=4=5=1, or indeed to an uncomfortable 4S opposite a better 3=4=5=1. Where I come from 2NT and 3D suggest only four spades, but they're not terribly descriptive.

I know this can be improved by playing 2NT as artificial, but from the sound of it most people would invite regardless of their methods. So, if you haven't already told us, which invitation would you make?

Well, I just passed. A disappointing KQxx Qxxxx xx AQ hit and I was =170. Lose 6. I thought it was pretty unlucky to see very little heart duplication and those club fillers. Maybe I should reconsider based on the responses.

I think if this hand chooses to invites, its 3. I don't think it promises 5 either.

Oh I just saw I made a typo. It was a 1 call.

Does that matter?

Even before seeing both hands - a clear invite. Our 2S bid could be a 3 carder, so will bid 2NT.

Perhaps not, but if partner has only three spades and wants to reject your game try, he will bid 3S and you will pass, won't you?

Even when he has enough to accept the game try, I can't see 3NT being the best spot very often. Do standard methods allow you to reach 5D when it's right?

Edit: Corrected misattribution of the quote.

I play that 2NT (art F1) and 3 of opener's suit (NF inv) shows exactly 4 spades and new suits shows 5+ spades. 4-3's can be ok, but we should know what we are doing.

In my usual style of very aggressive openings and 3M raises (strong club context & weak NT), I would pass here. In standard, I would scrape up an invite.
