From yesterday's day-long.

Board 1: North BOT (dealer) opens 1C

Auction: (opps passing) 1♣ - 1♥; 2NT - 7NT
Play: East leads and I ("human declares") claim 13 tricks without playing a single card. Our side had 14 TOP winners.

A fun moment!
Don't think this has never happened to me before.
(Sure we have bid grand slams that are cold at trick 1. However, those were longer auctions with a more meaningful bid sequence)

BTW, the curious part was that North Bot bid 2NT with 17 HCP! ♠Qx ♥Jx ♦AK10x ♣AK10xx.
(I am guessing that it upgraded due to the two 10s, both in the long suit. Never seen a bot upgrade in this fashion before)

Is this not just that it would not open 1NT with 2245 shape in range?

Bots have become unpredictable, even in bidding.

Previous versions used to be very rigid, rule driven bidders. The new ones, not so.

Also, I realise today that the bot had an option to show a strong hand with a 2♦ rebid. But it chose not to...
