First one. GIBBO's 5N response is explained as even number of keycards and some void. Standard right? Except robot has ZERO keycards. Luckily, due to bad defense and me trying to figure out WTH robot had, I stopped in 6♠ making 6.

Next hand is a sore subject with me. Robot makes a game try, human shows a minimum, robot goes to GAME anyway. Why make a game try if the bot is going to bid game anyway? I see this happen a lot. I don't care if it makes, it's a non-systemic response.

Please don't mix two interesting boards in the same thread.
But the first one GiB is right, the second one wrong (or worse).

Yeah so people have pointed out to me except it pushes the hand to the 6-level on strength of the void alone. And I've never seen that bid in all the years I've played. Logically, with 0 keys, I think the better response is whatever shows zero keys without trying to show the void. It's a question I'm going to put to some expert friends.

I know that you're looking for someone to commiserate, but give it up! You're looking at the whole concept of GIB in the worst possible way! Bots don't play bridge. they calculate it. They carefully weigh their options, identify all probable outcomes, then, with malice afterthought, diabolically choose the worst one.

Take a daylong I played today. Early on the bot refused to return my lead, foregoing the game destroying ruff. Then, on the next hand, the bot ruthlessly cashed out early, carefully setting up a plain Queen in dummy to allow the bot declarer to pitch an otherwise inescapable loser. But, all was not lost, because on the seventh hand the bot defended flawlessly for +100 (although if the bot had thought to support my game try in Hearts with five to the King, we would have been +650).

If you're going to focus on the right way to do things, the bots will inexorably crush your soul, because there are so few right answers. Conversely, wrong answers are, by definition, infinite in nature, and the bot glories in the vastness of that Universe.

(Frankly, I wonder why I do these things to myself, but I can't stop myself from seeing what new horror the bots will visit upon me. it might be some kink in whatever blood vessel that leads to the cerebral cortex, or just a perverse fascination with the imbecilic, but I must admit that bots rarely fail to surpass my worst expectations.)

I'm with you Joe_Old! I've stopped trying to "learn" the bots system, and simply concede all tricks on hands that significantly deviate from from what I would expect in F2F play - an average about 1 in 5 (worst was 7 in 8, though the silver lining was that I was able to finish quickly and get about my day's activities!). Best regards. Mike
