As a double check to help prevent unintended bids, it would be helpful if the bid about to be placed were placed either inside the "OK" button, or at least above or below it. The text could be something like the following:
Bid 4♠
or
Bid Redbl
This allows the bidder to visually confirm that the number of tricks and the right suit or action (Pass, Double, Redouble) was selected.

It's an interesting variant, certainly better than what is available.
More logical (IMO, often expressed in the last ten years) would be to be able to select a bidding card from the image of a (sufficient) bidding box, as present in Realbridge from the prototype day 1.

Oh I find that incredibly hard to deal with (and the flying Alert strip only more so).
Yes, I know it looks like the bidding boxes we all are used to, but it's just so hard to deal with.
Yes, I know it's weird, and I'm not "normal" (I don't "read" images. I can never remember "random pictures that 'look like' what I'm supposed to do", and especially have an issue with "now that I've memorized where the button is, there's a 'new and improved' UI that moves them all". Yeah, ♠, ♥, ♦, ♣ I think I can handle :-), but I know I'm weird.
Others, of course, will have different behaviour. More power to them.

"Which is harder to find - a paranormal field agent, or someone competent who likes talking on the phone?"
