West GIB has full knowledge that his heart card is worthless. West also knows, nearly 100% certainty, that South has the ♠K. At trick 9, when South cashes the ♦K, even a novice human in the West seat would discard a heart.

Not our favourite bot, though. Our hero west chucks a spade! Absurd! Absurd!! Absurd!!!

This was Board #4 from the Free Acol Daylong Tournament dated 9th August.

I led the ♦K at trick 10, and West threw a spade while retaining the useless heart. I can't see any logic for this action.

This happened again. In an Acol Daylong tournament.

The West bot had a complete count, but it retained a useless card even as it discarded from the useful long suit. Will share the link tomorrow after tournament ends.

The discard of ♥8 at trick 11, when West held an obviously worthless ♣10, must surely be some kind of recurring bug.

Note that East is genuinely getting squeezed out of his heart suit holding. I'd say that (if West were using human logic) West can deduce East's predicament, making it doubly important to value its own heart suit holding.

An insane play by the bot, there is no other way to describe it.
