Hi there

Tried embedding two hands from handviewer today but showed up blank
Thought maybe I had forgotten the syntax but checked a few old threads and previously functioning hands going back a long time have now lost all their cards
Would hate for people to think I have been posting blank hands for years - although other people have interacted with them so hopefully I am not going crazy
Can anyone advise on the change in syntax please - I have noticed many people have started using tiny url rather than embedding - will start doing the same :)
Not sure if I have time to fix every old hand I ever posted though

thanks
P

The hands on my blog are still functioning fine so I don't think it has changed.

The last big change that I noticed was that you needed to use https:// instead of http:// within

<iframe src="http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?s=sakqhakqdakqcakqj&d=w&a=3hpp" height="350px" width="200px"/>

The documentation has never been changed to reflect this.

For example, the last hand I created used

<iframe height="350px" src="https://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?w=saqj975hj2daq93ca&amp;d=s&amp;v=b&amp;a=1h1s3h5sp?" width="200px"></iframe>
The Beer Card

I don't work for BBO and any advice is based on my BBO experience over the decades

This is probably a browser security thing, not something we're doing. If the main page is loaded with HTTPS, it has to use HTTPS for embedded content.

We made some fixes a couple of months ago to prevent cross-site scripting exploits from the annotations feature of handviewer. It's possible they had unexpected side effects.

Can you give an example of a handviewer URL you tried?

Hi

Thanks for comments. I thought I had tested likely local effects with reboots and browsers. I don't know if I rebooted my router and haven't tried on different Internet connection yet :)

I haven't checked back at any old hands to see if they work today because I am on my phone

Here is a test hand. Still blank on my phone. Chrome :)

Sorry it is
.

You will have to look at the source. The second should be blank

https://www.bridgeba...CQ%7Cmc%7C13%7C

That is the URL as exported

Have used the same for years and my old hands don't work now either.

Changing Internet provider didn't fix it
Am downloading new browsers to test

While I am grateful for helpful comments denying the issue is real is a form of gaslighting

Not working in other browsers on my phone either. Weird.

Somebody mentioned https. Trust problem lol. Given the state of AUKUS

Wish I could copy and paste a screenshot:)

It starts off with [hv="url"]

Then you have 400|300 for frame size

Then you close the hv tag in the usual way :)

I will just paste urls for the time being :(

Preferring not to clear caches for time being. Could be an old script but new browsers have the same issue

You're meant to use [hv=url], not [hv="url"]. Probably used to work if you added quotes by mistake, and doesn't anymore.
