Passing the double rates to beat bidding 3N by a wide margin on average. You’d expect 500 on defence even if 3N makes and 3N could easily fail opposite many normal minimum doubles. Picture AQxx x Kxxx Axx on a spade lead. Even only plus 300 wouid be better than 3N most of the time

iow, 3N shouldn’t even be under consideration

If you are not passing then at least aim for a game or slam with an upside.

Did you even think about bidding 3H? If not, why not? If you did, why reject it?
