I have no issues if you choose to reverse.
Everyone does it, don't they?

If you want to open one no trump more often, I recommend watching rabidbean's series on the ebridge cup on YouTube. Of course he is playing with robots in a best hand event for the qualifying round and semifinal and the key phrase is, "this looks like a no trump".
For the final it was not best hand so proved to be a less successful tactic.
Joking aside, you will still learn a lot from watching the series. The playlist is available at https://www.youtube....KX0bK2oxm37J6Cs

Thanks. I don't have any trouble at all opening 1nt. The problem comes with my partners, most of whom are somewhat rigid regarding shape and do not like 1nt with 2 doubletons. Easing this 'rule' is proving difficult in the clubs I play at, my posts here are really a sanity check to make sure I have not strayed too far from what is acceptable.
I am really enjoying Steve's series, it's great hearing experts think as they play the hand. This is obviously an advantage of playing with bots, at a BBO table you will get booted and you'll be facing time penalties at the club if you stop and work through the hands like this.
Steve also has a super BBO nic!

Many club players would solve a lot of problems, including this one, if they considered their rebid before making their opening bid. Instead many act like rabbits in headlights when their partner makes the most predictable response.

There are way too many beans around.
IT folk, including barmar if he is reading this, also know of the Brilliant Paula Bean (https://thedailywtf....lant_Paula_Bean), who I suspect would be a bridge novice.
