If you want to open one no trump more often, I recommend watching rabidbean's series on the ebridge cup on YouTube. Of course he is playing with robots in a best hand event for the qualifying round and semifinal and the key phrase is, "this looks like a no trump".
For the final it was not best hand so proved to be a less successful tactic.
