Thanks to some interesting bidding decisions by the robots, I have achieved my latest PR of +2300 (doubled contract, down 8 vulnerable). What do you think west was thinking when he bid diamonds? Is there perhaps a better bid to be made? Is this a bug or misunderstanding of the robot system?

This is I think (both) robot's misundestanding of the robot system.
I imagine/hope that West thought he was showing clubs in some kind of Unusual over Unusual, but East's double of Soloway is already silly unless an undisclosed convention.
But it wouldn't be the first time I saw a robot (even Advanced) take an illogical preference for a 3 card suit after takeout.

Good job by the robots to sniff out the contract might not make so they avoided redoubling. And obviously the bad trump break didn't help.

Nope, bids 3♦ even with xxxx-xxxx-xxx-xx Old robot gets this right, so I don't know what changed since then.
