Ok, GiB has no way of knowing during play whether it is doing well so far or not.

But nevertheless, the play from dummy at trick 7 here left me surprised once again

Nah, not the same, this one is just nonsense given it has all but 1 top trick anyway and the diamond won't improve that. The only potential logical explanation would be that it thinks 3♣ denies the ace and so everything is equal, but it doesn't and bids 3♣ with that hand itself, so that's nonsense too.

Are you sure? In the variant below, double dummy shows a low spade is best. Of course, this also requires a bit of a crazy line with the position of the 9 of diamonds crucial, but GIB works double dummy.
