Hi,

I discovered if a claim is made and rejected, the defenders can then see each others hands. Is this intentional?
It doesn't happen at a club game (although I get there isnt a director physically present who can gather more info)

Yes, this is intentional.

BBO's claim process is modeled after rubber bridge, not duplicate bridge, since there isn't always a director available to adjudicate (it doesn't distinguish between tournaments and bridge clubs). In rubber bridge the defenders get to continue double dummy if they dispute the claim.
