Arguably, the fact that Australia's foreign policy magazine created an issue with this as a title is interesting in its own right

It is a journal published by Schwartz Media, which is aligned somewhere around the same point as MSNBC. Taking anything from this title would be the equivalent of taking a Fox Opinion headline regarding a Democratic POTUS and equating it with a government report.

Unless the OP is affiliated with the magazine, it seems like he's just sharing something he finds interesting.

The New York Times website also has a paywall, but I wouldn't consider a link to them to be advertising.
