Sorry, on tablet here.

You hold KJ7643 6 QJ765 3

MPs scoring, unfavourable and the auction goes 1H-X-5H to you

1H was limited to 11-15, 5H was preemptive. What's your call?

With zero first round controls and an opponent opening the bidding, I can't justify bidding 6, so 5 it is. If we miss it, that's life, preempts work.

I agree with 5 and kudos to the 5 bidder where many would waste time with a 4 bid. If he got me, he deserves to.

I bid 5 and with no first rd controls I wonder just who is sacrificing. PD with a control oriented good hand can carry on to 6 himself if he wishes.

With 0 first round controls, 5S is enough for me too.

5 for me also. There's just no way to know what's making. So you just bid your most likely make which is 5 . You certainly have enough distribution for that to be a good spot.

I guess 5H wasn't enough of a pre-empt for this forum :). The opp who had this passed. Most tables were in 5H making.

If the pips have moved, I was guessing them both here and in the OP. However in essence, both 5H and 5S were making.
