In the drop-down list could we add some further options?

Chat to Friends (global)
Chat to members of any clubs you are in - thinking of BIL etc hard to attract BILlies if not in the club as I suspect everyone has chat to lobby off?

Sorry, but I doubt we will implement these suggestions as they would lend themselves to being abused by spammers. We already get complaints about private club managers sending out spam and, in theory, these people are all supposed to be responsible and considerate. If we allowed all members to send out mass chat/mail messages, I suspect we would soon regret this decision.

Apart from the considerations Fred's listed, I will also vote for no here. I find the dropdown option less useful and can't grasp the logic anyway. (Why is it sometimes a few people's names appear, but other people's names don't?)

Will prefer having a new chat interface, and leave the "how" to our great duo. :>
It has to have copy/paste feature and something that lets you see what you're typing and edit it, instead of a long long horizontal bar...

From what I have observed, the few people's names that appear in the pull down menu of the Chat box are those from whom you have received a private message or those to whom you have sent a private message.

Probably uday or someone can confirm this. I presume they must have done it this way, so that you don't have to scroll quite a bit, if you have to reply to a private message from a friend after some length of time. Selecting from pull down menu is an easier option.

How about a chat to all friends option that is limited to, say, 25 friends? This would work best with having two types of friends as was suggested before. I guess this would be unwanted complexity for some...
