I think there are two basic meanings in my 3♣.First,long suit game try. Second,it may be a cuebid in advance.However whatever it is,after my 3♣ as LGST,responder should refuse to bid up to game directly with small doubleton in ♣.
So I guess Maybe GIB make decisions according to hcp holding after LSGT,right?

I agree with North's 4S bid, GIB doesnt play that 3C could just be a cuebid.

It' s true that North doesn't have a club filler but it does have a maximum for its 2♠ bid. So I think 4♠ is fine.

I might not bid game over a LSGT in clubs, but I would certainly make a counter-try by bidding 3♥. South is certainly bidding game, as he was intending to do from the beginning.

sorry,I disagree.if your opinion is right,GIB seems to select 3nt instead of 4♠ with balance,and it is best to let opener select 3nt or 4♠ as a final contract. In other word,4♠ is not always better than 3nt.

GIB does not really have the ability to revalue its hand based on fit with partner (well, it could kind of do so via simulations) so it just plods along based on HCP over LSGTs as well as over splinters. Of course, if it is GIB making the trial bid, we humans are allowed to use our little grey cells (apologies to Herule Poitot).

This is a good hand to raise. What possible justification does North have for bidding game? Minimum points and minimum trump support for initial raise, subsequent to which he receives information from opponents which should cause him to devalue Club King.
I can only speculate that GIB regards D:xx as valuable opposite a LSGT. Even if that is justified it is not enough to tip it.

I am not convinced that South is worth 3D but that is beside the point

With what specifically do you disagree? All of it? I made several statements in the post to which you responded.

As I understand you, you think that a LSGT (or a SSGT for that matter) requires partner to take into account only his holding in the specified suit to decide his action. I do not agree with this and furthermore that is not my understanding of standard treatments. Partner is required to evaluate his entire hand in light of of the LSGT or SSGT, with emphasis on adjusting values in the GT suit, and take intelligent action in consequence. Certainly if the opponents have provided additional information since his last call I would expect him not to ignore it.
