Maybe this is too simple for "Expert" bridge...but what would people now bid on this...

I would start by reminding myself of the discussions I had with partner about the minimal strength of a direct 1N bid by responder...

Didn't realise this would require any discussion....8-10? Maybe a v suitable 7 or v poor 11?

That leaves too big a gap of 0-7 and partner could be Jxx Qxxx 9xx Axx.
But you'll have to stick with the odds and pass.

Prefer 1n=6-9
