I am trying to decipher the 2 rebid, ostensibly showing a minimum type opener, followed by the jump to 4. Not sure what to make of that.

Doesn't exist as a pure club hand (forgot to bid 3 or open 4) to me it's x, xx, KJxx, AKJ10xx agreeing diamonds but indicating only top clubs and diamonds. Was a natural 4 opener available ? otherwise could be AQJ10xxxx and a card.

Reason for edit: the names of bbo players were deleted because it viollates the terms of service of this site. To the original poster, if you are unhappy with what was said to you on BBO, you should air that part of the complaint with abuse at bridgebase dot com.

Seems pretty intelligent bidding to me.

My best remembered example of raising with a void was holding AK9 A9643 - A10763. We were down 20-odd imps going into the last 8 of a Gold Cup semi-final (UK's premier KO teams event) and the first few boards didn't look very promising, so we needed a swing. I opened 1 and partner responded 3 (strong jump shift!). 4 seemed clear and partner rebid 4. Our agreement was that rebidding a SJS suit showed a solid suit, and it seemed odds on to me that partner could set up at least one of my 5-card suits, so I simply jumped to 7!

Partner's hand was perhaps a little sub-minimum, without the K of either of my suits: J8 82 AKQJ1097 QJ, and on the opening lead of a small had no option but to finesse. Fortunately the story has a happy ending, with K onside, otherwise I dare say I would have forgotten the hand long ago.....

solid clubs with nothing outside seems to be, but its really annoying since it bypasses 3NT, can't really understand it.

I can see 10 tricks + 2 fineses so 11 tricks in clubs is the goal.

Another hand used as a cover to rant at someone that the OP did not like. If you had a problem with what the table host said then you should post it to abuse@bbo.com where it will be dealt with. You should not make such posts including the names of the people involved on these forums.

@Fluffy, seems to me there are 7 club tricks, 4 diamond tricks and 2 major suit aces. So the goal is 7 right? (providing you have a second account kibitzing the hand anyway ;) )

So everybody else bid this 3N-P-P-P. I excluded this possibility precisely because of the 3N opening bid and assumed that partner had to have an outside K.

I hope you mean that everybody else bids 3N-P-anything but pass...

Sorry yes, but what I meant was nobody bids a slam opposite a G3N. 3N-P-5 would be normal.
