I can't see beyond 2♣ for now. If partner makes a move, I'll bid up. I'm not keen on any of the options offered, for various reasons.

Maybe, so let's pretend the diamonds are AQ tight, and see what the folks would do with what they were dealt and the given conditions.

Certainly plausible but I think AKT97 is worth at least as much an upgrade as KQ tight is worth a downgrade. Or maybe your point was to expand your NT range under certain playing conditions?
