I do not buy this.
If 2 is going to make, 3 will be worth much more than 50%, even if 3 fails. It all boils down whether you will bring down 2.
In my long and rather sad experience, this is a very different proposition from whether 2 can be brought down double dummy, though I would take my chances if I knew that is the case.
