East-West may not have slam the only likely one is 6- that depends enormous on the placement of the King of Spades. It doesn't have to be with North.

WEst's double with 10 tricks in hand is theworst call, he has to bid 4NT, or at least pass.

Does that mean you think 4H doubled is the right spot????? Just answer the question first and then make your brilliant observations.

I don't see any bad calls in the auction until the double of 4. As Fluffy already pointed out, West's hand is much more offense than defense, and he should bid again.

East's final pass with AQxxxxx of spades is questionable, but he has shown close to that in the auction, and his hand is not terrible for defense. West could have a lot of tricks against 4.

Could 4x be right? I suppose anything is possible. But with 10 probable tricks in NT on the expected heart lead, doubling 4 is trying to hit a very small target (spade lead, heart through, no 10 tricks).

Once in a blue moon you'll take 2 spades, 2 hearts (possibly by spade overruff), 2 clubs and a diamond off 4, so double could be right.

Does 2 show a full value positive ? if so I'd probably bid 4 solid suit, partner will bid 4 which could be the king, but is more likely to be a singleton here, and we'll bid 6 which can't be worse than a spade finesse here for partner to have his positive, and could easily be cold if partner has a king instead of the Q .

I think it does show a full value positive although we haven't discussed it. Pass would be waiting, dbl would be a double neg. But unfortunately we haven't discussed the jump rebid either.....
