X on the first one. In the second one Pass is tempting (because of the spades) but I'd expose my head with 2♣.

1. 2♣. If pard has a balanced hand, this will be a good contract. If he has diamonds and our LHO bids 2S, there's a good chance pard will stick his neck to bid 3D.

X seems quite clear planning on raising what ever partner rebids.
