East's initial double is a little pushy, but it seems ok. West's 4N bid was automatic.

East has a 5C bid, it's fine to play 5C if partner has the minors but it's bad to play 5H if partner has clubs and hearts.

West decided his hand was worth bidding slam. Seems right.

Why wasn't HA onside? Did 4S have S:KQJx xxx xxx with nothing on the side?

4 is a preempt. It can be made with less than 10 hcp.
