Last one (I think!) in the series.

Board 31/32, 2 imps down.

Your call? (XX would show Hx)

2D. With a potential misfit and much of my strength in the wrong place, I'm happy that it's non-forcing.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Same for me. I don't think we can make game if partner has not enough to be over my 2 (NF, but I suppose it shows a good hand).

Why was 1 not an option last round? :(
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Maybe South has a reputation for refusing to accept bids out of turn?

I never abstain, but here I must do it because I can't understand the auction :P

It's not that hard an auction :P

1C is natural, but could be doubleton if 4432.
1S shows well.... spades....
X is a negative double showing hearts....

2, glad it's NF, and even more glad it's not MPs so I don't have to decide how many NT to bid. As a side note, I usually play transfers here so this hand would be nicer then.

oh sorry. I'm too used to being South in bidding problems.

2 looks nice.

I don't think 2 shows this good hand and p will pass on some hands that are enough to make 3NT. Maybe the way to show a forcing hand with diamonds it to pass first and then bid diamonds next time. However, opps have anounced close to half the desk so I don't worry much about it. 2 it is.

OK I admit it, my choice here wasn't the best :P. Both tables picked options not selected in the poll :).

I probably should have passed 3S, I wasn't certain if it was forcing or not. 4S somehow only went -1 despite the defence getting a ruff. At the other table, there wasn't a negative double, and East bid 1NT! This got passed out and made +2. Lost 5 imps.

On the final board (7 imps down), we were +110 (2S making), the other table opps were in 1D on a bad 4-1 fit and if it went -2 (as it should), we would have tied. Alas it only went -1 so we lost the match by 2 imps (92-94) :(
