Playing xyz, I believe systems are on if opps interefere at the 1level so,
1♣ (P) 1♥ (1♠)
1N (P) 2♣/2♦ is still inv/gf
How do you handle interference at the 2level?
1♦ (P) 1♥ (P)
1N (2♣) ?
Is 2♦ gf and X invitational ?

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.

Elianna and I play 2-way nmf is off in sequences where the opponents have bid (although it's on if they've only doubled).
In the first sequence, we would play 2♠ as the artificial force. There's not a huge need to check back for three-card support here, so we can bid 2N with the five heart hand.
In the second sequence, double would be takeout showing some values (partner can leave it in) and not very many clubs. To force game without risking 2♣X, we have the cuebid (3♣) as a forcing call.

I suppose you could play some sort of 'stolen bid' (typing this gives me the willies) here, but in general xyz is not on if they have bid 2♣ or 2♦.
In one partnership I play xyz is on if they have only made one call at the one level. In another, we play xyz is always on, regardless of what has happened at the one level.
