Scoring: MP

1 (5)

Sorry - I got the vulnerability wrong on this one: we were at adverse.

It seems better to start another thread rather than pollute the quite interesting discussion about what to do at game-all.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

I suppose at adverse double is easier.

I'd choose 5 at this vulnerability. I have no way of trying for a slam.

5 is trying for a slam. I expect partner to raise with good hands. I don't bid at the five-level (especially at these colours) over a preempt hoping for a minus. Therefore if partner has a trick more than expectation she should start thinking of raising.

I hate not raising with support, sometimes partner has a monster that just needs fit and lettle extra for slam or even more. So 5.

I have been persuaded that 5 was better in the other thread (all vul), but I think I still double at this vul. :)

On the one hand we have more work to do to get 800 (4 down instead of 3 down), on the other hand RHO will have their bid much less often at this vulnerability. So not only are we very likely to take more tricks in defence, but - since RHO won't always have AKJTxxxx of clubs - the chance of partner having wasted club honors (with correspondingly fewer heart/diamond honors) has increased, so 5 will go down more often.

I agree that a factor in favor of bidding 5 is the possibility of bidding slam, maybe that should be enough to make 5 worth while, but I still double.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

In that case partner will bid again.

5H wtp?

+1.
I think we make very often and sometimes if we don't they do.
To me the choice is between 5 and 6. Doubling sounds like a joke to me.
