Does this auction exist, what does it show, is it forcing?

I don't know what partner is showing, but the responding hand in the link would have bid 1S directly after the double of 1♣. There are a significant number of very good players who pretty much ignore 1m (X), when responding --so to not waste one or two rounds of bidding trying to catch up after a redouble.

Edit: I would be very surprised if Lowell, on the first thread, perpetrated a redouble with that hand. I would have expected him to respond 1S, and then bid 3C later. I think I worded that wrong. Not doubting Duran's account. But, it is surprising that Lowell would create confusion with that hand -- experienced player that he is.

I'd take it as a club raise with spade values. Quite a few partnerships don't have a forcing club raise available in this auction. I'd say something like AQx xxx xx AJTxx would be typical.

I took it for what it was, 4 spades and showing lim raise + type strength.

With 5♠ I think it's better to bid 1♠ than redouble with 10+ points. I think this auction shows 4♠ and is angling towards game in NT.

I think it's obv forcing. Partner redoubled, doubled, and bid a new suit. I think he's trying to tell us something!

Agree,

IMO it makes a lot of sense to play RDBL as F to at least 2NT (i.e. they will play dbled, or we will play at least 2NT). If you cant survive playing 2NT in misfit, your hand was not good enough to rdble.
