I think this is a tough hand. It feels to good for 2, but not enough for 3. I think it depends on our agreements, if 1 denied a balanced hand, sure sounds like heart shortness, and I would take the low road, otherwise I will bid 3.

I would wish to be playing xzy here, and be able to bid 2 and follow it up with 2. Lacking that, then I am forced to bid 3's, which isn't so bad.

I see this problem over and over on BBF. It is always one solved with jump shift options.

For me, I like 1-P-2 with this hand. Roughly a good weak two (8+ to 11-) with six hearts. If 1-P-2 is weak, then 1-P-1-P-1-P-2 should show the same thing (and, hence, 1...3 GF).

Solves a world of hurt.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

The fillers in pard's suit make the 3 bid a bit of an UNDERbid :)
