Scoring: IMP

This hand was played last week in an international event ..I was sitting south and the auction went as follows:

west : 1cl (precision) .. north pass .. east 1d (0-7) .. south : 1H
west : pass .. north 2H .. east dbl .. south : 2sp
west : pass .. north pass .. east dbl .. All pass

with a small diam lead i went 1 down with score 100 for EW
east called the TD saying that they can win 4h and they lost the game cause of the physics of the 1H overcal

All players are advanced level and have convention cards ...and in the NS south convention the icon of never physics is checked

What wld be your ruling ?? I d like to hear your opinion on this live hand B)

Normally, i'd say no problem EXCEPT that you have "never" checked under psyches. This is a well known position to take some liberties.

If you are deliberately advertizing that you never psyche, then you really need to be careful. I'm VERY curious regarding your partnership history: Do you have any habits regarding similar actions during strong club auctions?

11 years ago? Your problem is you don't psyche enough! B)

But seriously, if you hadn't clicked "never psyches" there wouldn't
be a problem. You could make the argument that once in 11 years
is closer to "never psyches" than "occasionally psyches."

On a separate topic, what about the approach of putting "frequent
psyches" on your card even though you haven't psyched in tournament
play for years.
