Three times today I have had to take action against post by members which could cause distress to the other members. Two, while being fairly innoculous, involved someone being upset with a tournmnent director. One of these posted a link to an offsite post berating one, the other one named a director in an effort to drum up support for how horrible a ruling they got at the table from this TD. Such post identifying people to make negative comments about simply should not be done. You can get support for you position by simply stating what happened, without mentioning names. I simply edited these post to remove the (guilty?) names, and no other action was taken or is warrented.

The third case, however, was a mean spirited attack on another, well respected BBF member, for no apparent reason. And even if there had been a reason, such comments will not be tolerated on the BBF. The post in quiestion was deleted and the poster was warned (yes, call it censorship if you like) and additional sanctions were taken against the poster in question.

Ben it will never be censorship acting according to the rules known by all. Unless of course the rules are made so specialized that it will have the same effect as an arbitrarian ruling. Censorship is only about arbitrarian decisions.

You will have no problems for these kind of decisions you mention here.

hi,

We seeing a lot of critising towards tds these days, critising in a positive way is a good thing , but straight forward attacts/insults/disrespect shoud be avoided if possible.
i very much welcome the thing u did ben and thx for it in name of tds, and sorry to those tds having to go thru that.
Many seem still to forget that we are dealing here with volunteers donating thier time.
Maybe one whole day no tournaments on bbo woud show all bbo members what a miss it is.
BBF simply hasnt enough space to name all horrible things that are/have/will be said against tds, and we always have to remain calmness, decide/rule in a perfect way.So some are asking we are without mistake.
This been told long time from me and others but some things on BBO are not improving and one of this is behavuior in general, sad but thru.
Hope we go back to the times when a player said "thank you " after a tourney, happens still but not much these days:(

I am glad that the BBF is screened for inappropriate threads/postings. Any posting that becomes personal rather than topical doesn't belong in an open forum.
